Photography with
Patrick O'Kane |
|
|
|
The
digital age and rapidly growing technology
provide the tools to capture quality images,
capturing great images - those with a real
wow factor, take personal involvement. Pursuing
innovation, perspective and creativity and
remaining true to the capture of images "in
camera" underpins Patrick's enthusiasm
for sports photography.
He strives to capture the sprit of the sport
and the soul of the athlete. In doing so he
likes to use his equipment in a creative way,
pushing the combinations of technology in
a manner that makes the viewer feel the strain,
pain and glory of the athlete. |

The
flash guide number tells you - in a general sense
- how powerful the flash is and hence, how much
of an area it can illuminate.
The
higher the guide number, the greater the intensity
and range of the flash.

Timelapse
Presentation with
Ben Ashmole |
|
|
|
Members
and Guests Welcome |
|
Ben
Ashmole is a visual creative based in Brisbane who
loves to travel and experience new things then use
it all to produce beautiful imagery!
Ben has travelled all over the globe capturing his
experiences, places and cultures then producing
visual content and creative story telling to do
it justice. This evening Ben will give us an extensive
overview of shooting, processing and rendering Timelapse
photography.
What is Timelapse?
Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the
frequency at which film frames are captured (the
frame rate) is much lower than that used to view
the sequence. When played at normal speed, time
appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing.
It is manipulating time, things that would normally
take minutes, days or even months can be viewed
in seconds after being sped up. |

How
to create a Tryptich in Adobe Photoshop and Elements
with
Noel Clark EFIAP
FAPS PSQA |
|
|
|
What's
a tryptich? Tryptich simply means 3 images displayed
together, usually side by side,
or vertically lined up.
The images have something in common, a general
theme or shared subject so that when
viewed as a whole, they convey a larger message
or artistic statement.
This
evening Noel will show the steps to putting the
images together - to create a tryptich -
in both Photoshop and Elements.

A
'Scapes Evening with
Mel Sinclair |
|
|
|
Mel
(Melanie) Sinclair is a Landscape Photographer
and Creative Writer from Brisbane, Australia.
She is always seeking out the best locations and
experiences to translate into her latest works.
Mel was honoured to judge at the
2015 Epson International Pano Awards, and this
evening will give tips and hints as to how to
improve our imagery as well as share her passion
for photography, writing and adventure!
Q & A will be available.
Over
the years, Mel has amassed numerous awards and
achievements within the Australian
and Global photographic community.
She is a firm believer in seeing the artists
thoughts reflected in an image - whether this
be
by panoramic technique or post processing style,
a well-executed image is as powerful as a lightning
strike.
Hunt down a unique location and create your moments;
that is what great photography is all about!
