> Timelapse Photography Presentation
with Damian Caniglia

Members and Guests Welcome

Damian Caniglia is a Fina Art photographer whose work includes photographing stills and filming up to 4K Ultra HD for many different outputs and uses, from documentaries and storytelling projects through to advertising campaigns and building of stock libraries.

He has worked in many challenging environments and countries with different cultural backgrounds including the jungles of Papua New Guinea, the Nepalese Himalaya, Southern Africa and Antarctica.

Damian is a qualified trainer and is committed to helping people understand the process and power of photography and this evening he will present on the topic of timelapses.

What is Timelapse?
Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the frequency at which image frames are captured (the frame rate) is much lower than that used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing.

It is manipulating time, things that would normally take minutes, days or even months can be viewed in seconds after being sped up.

Redlands Camera Club Master Series Presentations bring
Masters of their field to Brisbane Photographers!

Go to Trybooking.com

Thank you to Victoria Point Community Bank ® Branch of Bendigo Bank for their support.

We are most pleased to welcome Mark back to the Redlands Camera Club!
This time, for an in-depth MasterClass on compositing multiple images in Photoshop.

Mark Galer is a seasoned professional photographer, educator, author, contributing editor for Australian Photography and Digital magazine, Adobe Influencer and Photoshop Guru.
He has written 30 books for Focal Press, has served as a Senior Lecturer and Program Director of the BA Photography course at RMIT University in Melbourne and is an Adobe Ambassador. There is arguably no one more qualified to teach these awesome
Photoshop techniques - Come along for a terrific evening!

Mark has taught compositing skills to aspiring commercial photographers and retouchers at two Melbourne Universities for a number of years. The basic Photoshop compositing skills, that form the foundation skills for all other projects, can be taught over the course of just a few projects.

These projects are designed to teach a non-destructive compositing workflow that focuses on the importance of presenting images ‘appropriate’ for compositing to Photoshop, so that the resulting streamlined workflows deliver high-quality results with the minimum amount of post-production editing.

MOVIE NIGHT > Finding Vivian Maier

Movie Night > Finding Vivian Maier

When John Maloof bought an unmarked box of undeveloped negatives back in 2007,
he had no idea that he had just stumbled upon one of the 20th Century's most important
troves of street photography and self/portraiture.
The photographer: Vivian Maier, a secretive and eccentric nanny who over the course
of more than three decades took tens of thousands of photos of everyday urban life -
and showed them to no one.

'Finding Vivian Maier' follows Maloof as he embarks on a quest to reveal the woman
behind the Rolleiflex camera. Part retrospective, part detective story, 'Finding Vivian Maier'
is a touching portrait of a woman haunted by her past. For a contemporary age obsessed
with self-documentation via all forms of technology, Vivian Maier was a pioneer.

Focus stacking (also known as focal plane merging) is a digital image processing technique which combines multiple images taken at different focus distances to
give a resulting image with a greater depth of field (DOF) than any of the individual source images.

In this practical workshop members will photograph subjects on different focal planes
then combine the images in either Photoshop or Elements. This is a practical and hands-on workshop suitable for beginners or members who would like to learn this technique.
