Ben is quick to admit that he learned the most about photography since this time.

Ben is a great advocate of camera clubs, having been president of the Gold Coast Photographic
Society and Gympie Camera Club, a PSQ accredited judge and currently the President of the Photographic Society of Qld.

Ben has successfully entered many National and International photographic competitions

Rob approaches all of his portrait sessions as works of art and, unlike modern trends that can come and go, Rob's art is forever. His approach to natural portrait sessions in outdoor locations provides his customers with a unique experience, and his choice of optimal outdoor lighting conditions and backgrounds with a difference enables him to produce portraits that are truly unique and that stand the test of time.

Presentation with Steven Fudge and Kane Gledhill

Local photographers Steven Fudge and Kane Gledhill will provide us with a unique insight into their
style of image capture.
Steven shoots with a Pentax 645 medium format digital camera and a range of lenses which enables him to offer large format prints to his customers. He works in both colour and B/W and specialises in photograping long exposure, fine art images of architecture, cityscapes, landscapes and seascapes.
He looks for light, line, repetition and solitude to create his images and is continually searching for good light and subject matter for his fine art prints.

Kane shoots with a Fotoman 617 panoramic film camera to create his stunning landscape images.
He also captures digital images and looks to nature and the great Australian outdoors to select his subject matter. He is often asked why he still shoots with film, and he explains that it slows down the process of image capture and he feels it allows him to capture the heart of the image through the rich detail and colour saturation unique to Fuji Velvia film.

Monochrome Group Meeting

Our last meeting of the year!

We try to make the main part of this last meeting shorter than usual so we have plenty of time
to chat and share the end of another successful year of the Group.
However we still have a couple of interesting things to hold your attention.

SEGMENT ONE > BRIAN RUSSELL will present his research and thoughts about
ARNOLD NEWMAN. Again I am quite sure this will prove to be a very interesting and instructive presentation. Brian is such a skillful and knowledgeable photographer himself, I’m sure he will give us some deep insights that will get us thinking over the Christmas holidays.

SEGMENT TWO Group discussion for the 2016 Monochrome Group program.
Pleae give some thought to what you want from the Mono Group in 2016. We can then share with
each other. Often this type of interaction can provide an expansion of ideas as we bounce thoughts around.

SEGMENT THREE During supper we also plan to display a collection of member images,
so send up to 10 of your Mono images to share. Either send to me by email, or hand to Maree Morris
at the November meeting, or any of the general club meetings. Preferably by the end of November!
This is an opportunity to see your images displayed on the big screen, and to share with your fellow members, whilst we enjoy supper.

The Spring Hill Reservoirs Field Trip

The reservoirs are two heritage listed underground water storage facilities.
The first reservoir was built in 1871, and the second some eleven years after.
Both were built primarily of red-brick and mortar, set in-ground.
Interiors feature columns and arches between walls for reinforcement.
There are interesting textures, lines & lighting to photograph.

So as not to clutter the interior of the Reservoirs with people it is proposed to allow
4 or 5 members into the building at a time.

The remaining members waiting outside will find plenty of subjects to photograph in the surrounding park & in the nearby Roma Street Parklands.

Two or three aspiring model volunteers who wish to have portraits taken in a unique setting, are required. If you have a family member who wishes to volunteer please contact Mike or Graham ASAP.
